What is with people forcing one to register to their "oh so valuable website of the century" for a simple info or file?

After all they are providing that stuff (code/music/image/whatever) for free! Pisses the shit out of me when one is forced to go though a stupid registration. By no means these tossers are going to get the real email ID of the people registering, so why be a pain in the ass? Absolute idiots!
