Skype Out!

I am a Yahoo! boy. That means, all my pc-2-pc voice calls and text chat are done using Yahoo! Messenger. Yes, I did hear about Skype since it was first launched around 3-4 years back. But never got into it as Yahoo! pretty much met all my needs and I had my friends already in Yahoo! MSN junkies are not my real friends, they are dumb fools I see once in a while to amuse myself. Saves me going to the zoo :)

Then came GTalk - Google's talk child and it's very impressive. Still I was loyal to Yahoo! But recently the Skype Out feature (yes I know it has been for a while) has introduced the new call rates and they are cheap. Specially for me, calling to Bangladesh has become very cheap. For AU$0.09/min, it is just great. Yes, probably calling cards are cheaper, but I can't be stuffed going to an ethnic spice store to get the best value for money card. Plus, the local call charges, line dropouts etc. kinda puts me off. Called home today for the first test drive and it went flawless. Anoher charm is call rates to Aussie Mobiles. At AU$0.30/min, that is cheaper than any carriers standard rate. Depending on my contact base in Skype, I may soon ditch Yahoo!
